Another offering in Kathy Brodock's series of homemaking DVDs, beginners of all ages will appreciate Kathy's up-close demonstrations and clear, articulate teaching style.

In just over an hour, Kathy covers all of the basics including hooks, yarns and threads, and stitches. She also explains how to read a pattern and deciphers the all-important pattern abbreviations.

To fully demonstrate each basic stitch, Kath produces sample pieces starting with a chain of the same length. Along the way, she covers such topics as working in the tail end of your yarn, changing colors, how to increase and decrease stitches, creating texture, and the importance of tension. Projects include a dishcloth and simple scarf.

Despite some minor production issues, this no-frills instructional DVD will have you knocking out granny squares in no time! Format: DVD Run Time: 59:10
