This is basically a text book for a PE teacher. A TON of information. Probably too much but our state requires a health curriculum be taught so this is what we've used. Good tips but I definitely don't read through the whole stinkin' thing. ;)

This is actually a textbook for teaching teachers how to teach PE, but the concept is wonderful. Instead of just giving the rules to some PE games, this actually breaks down PE skills into physical movements. The text tells you how to teach a kid to kick a ball for instance (kick at the center of the ball, kick with shoelaces instead of toe point, bend knee in preparation for the hit, follow through, lean backward slightly for the hit). As someone who actually struck out in my T-ball league, this was a lot of help. The text is geared toward public school teachers and takes some reading and digesting to get the idea, but I've found it very helpful. We hope to start our kids on a program based on this text this year.
