Minimal Improvement: The teacher was engaging and my son thoroughly enjoyed watching her, even though he's a boy and an older teen. BUT, her own pre- and post-tests only showed a minimal improvement.

I used this for my 6-7 yr old and my 4 yr old would sit in and watch. I used 100 language lessons with the 4yr old and he breezed through it because he remembered so much just from watching Marie. My 7yr old used Rod and Staff after that and we quit and now we are going back to Marie.
It is very thorough and not watery, yet simple to learn. For example she called the four types of sentences by their real names ie. Assertive- not telling. I liked this because my kids didnt have to relearn the names.
The lessons were short and to the point. I purchased the no frills to reduce my cost, which ment I had to print my own booklets. I am able to go through it again with my son now and he can personalize his book by making notes.
I do feel like there is a lack of practice sheets but I am going to follow another's suggestion and download free practice sheets online.
Overall, the knowledge is abundant!

I love this program!
Initially it looked so simple, actually too simple; but it really is a great program just implemented very gently. I have a high school son who attended public school until about 3 years ago. He just never really caught on to the basics of grammar. We worked through the basic cozy grammar, basic cozy punctuation, and are currently working through the intermediate grammar and essay writing course.
It's so thorough and friendly, that my son was actually learning and he didn't even realize it! My only complaint is that there isn't very much practice, only one worksheet per lesson. My answer to this was to go to some free websites and download and print some additional practice sheets.
The courses are a little pricey; however, I opted for the "no frills DVD" version. I love being able to print only what I need and also being able to print as many times as I like... depending on what was going on with us at the time.
One more plus is that the company has a 6 month return policy if you are not satisfied. That's very hard to beat. The customer service representatives are very detailed and quick. I have never called, but I did email several times and they usually got back to me within a couple of hours. Also one of my DVD discs kept giving me trouble playing in my computer. I sent them an email and they Fed-Exed me a new DVD the same day, I received it in 2 days, no questions asked, no additional expenses incurred. That kind of service can be very hard to come by.
I am very pleased with the program and highly recommend it!

Grammar is usually very dry, but not with Cozy Grammar. My 8th grader is using the Intermediate Grammar II, and loving it! And she is retaining what she is learning. We bought the program on VHS with the worksheets and tests on CD which I printed out and put in a three ring binder. The worksheets also contain notes from the video lesson. With the video presentation, the student can remember a scene in which the concept is taught. Then, moving on to the worksheet pages, that concept is then applied on paper. There are tests after every 5 or so lessons. My only complaint is that the program doesn't go past Intermediate Level II.
