Has anyone used a career/interest assessment test?

Has anyone used a career/interest assessment test?

"Career Direct" (purchase through BJU homeschool or Crown Financial Ministries) or Focus on the Family "The Call"

re: Has anyone used a career/interest assessment test?

I'm sorry for not answering sooner. I thought I had and yet didn't.

When my oldest was in grade 10 or 11 ish, we did use the focus on family "The Calling" career assessment. I only have vague memories. I think it asked stuff beyond just what do you like to do, but would ask questions on what would make you go yuckie to do that, or be around that.

I'm not sure the value in doing it was to direct for possible majors in college or work, but it does have that value to it. I think it was the thinking process of this stuff.

The cover school we use has access to Kuder assessment. one of my kids did that. I don't remember details now. I was thinking of trying to do it again.

I'd like to suggest What Color is Your parachute (for teens)? as a beginning place for career/interest assessment, and stuff like that. The book may be in your local library and talks through thinking process of good fit/bad fit. that kind of stuff.
