DH and I have decided to get the girls are Wii for Christmas. Could you please suggest some good games.
I have a DD7 and DD4. They both love Disney Princess stuff, cooking games, and adventure type stuff. I'm looking to stay away from games with fighting, and scary elements.
Thanks.

Look at the My Sims games Also Boom Blox but read about it first - it involves knocking blocks down that are animal critters - my kids love it but check it out first as they are knocking things around and things go boom Also there is a cooking game and an underwater game that I've heard great things about. I personally love the Lego Star War games - the characters break apart into Legos when hit in battle but that might be too violent. Any of the Wii sport type games

My girls are soon to be 6 and 8. We've had a Wii for a few years now and some games have been much better than others for their ages.
I try to look over games ahead of time to see if the kids will have to do reading (meaning I'll have to be there to play the game with them each time they want to play it which I can't always do). http://www.nintendo.com/games/guide#qhardware=Wii&qesrbRating=&qplay=&qgenre=&qrelease=&panel=qhardware I like to look over screen shots of games LOL Also like to make sure they are 2 player games at least.
The Petz series has a lot of reading, and the Sims game we rented had a lot of reading also.
The disney princess Enchanted journey is a huge hit here. They tell the kids what to do so there is no reading needed. They also enjoy the Wii golf, bowling and boxing which come with the Wii. The Wii fit has fun games with it, like the soccer, running, hoola hoop and ski jump. (but we got that for the adults and the kids just like to use it LOL) Cooking Mama cook off is okay. The girls like it but the games are a bit short. But it's a whoot to watch them play it. We Cheer is super fun and they play that a lot too. They are coming out with We Cheer 2 this month. (this one gets them dancing all over the place as they play LOL) The lego star wars, indiana jones etc are not violent at all, and they play those though I think they'd prefer if they were princess legos LOL. Raving Rabbids is a whoot and the whole family loves that one. Mario cart is a fun one for the age group too. Lots of times you can get $20 games at walmart (which is where we've found some neat ones - like Disney princess LOL). Or check ebay also.
Good luck and I hope you have tons of fun! ~Melissa~
