Well, I never heard for sure if the little girl in dd's class had H1N1 or not...I didn't get to go to work today. DD13 now has periorbital cellulitis (an infection around the soft tissue of her eye). Her eye is completely swollen shut and the skin on the eyelid and all around it is bright red. It wasn't responding to oral antibiotics or to a shot of Rocephin so she was admitted to our childrens hospital today. I've only been home from the baby's hospital stay for 10 days-ARGH!!! We will most likely be here through the weekend.
I am staying at the hospital with dd which means I am being forced to wean the baby from the breast. She will be 13 months tomorrow so its not like she is too young. But she is my last baby and I kind of wanted to nurse her longer. She doesn't nurse during the day-just to go to sleep, then during the night and when she wakes in the morning. In some ways I will be glad to have her not nursing all night long but I'm mostly just sad...
If you could say another prayer for us I'd appreciate it. I'm really kind of struggling here. Not to mention no school is getting done.

O gosh! I am so sorry! How frustrating. My prayers are going your way. So sorry about being forced to wean earlier than anticipated. Just a thought..could you pump to keep supply up for the meantime? Will baby take a bottle/ sippy cup while you are gone? I just hate hearing that you have to wean before you wanted,..I am a nursing mom too...

So sorry to hear about your dd....My dd had the same thing when she was 4months old. She was in the hospital for about 6 days getting two shots a day....no fun at all. praying your dd gets better fast.

I am so sorry to hear about your current hospitalization, so close to the last one. It's also hard to give up the nursing. I agree w/ pp, can you pump, at least for the bedtime and morning feedings? By stepping back from the feedings during the night, you can sleep better even when home but you still have those moments w/ your baby before bed and before you start your day.
