NOOOO!!!

NOOOO!!!

*Sigh*...So, I went back to teaching preschool this year-just 2 mornings a week-to make a little extra money. They let me bring my homeschooled kiddos with me and my 12 month old goes to her class, and she enjoys it (after a rough adjustment period). Well, the director just called me to let me know that one of the little girls in the baby's class most likely has swine flu. She was in class with my dd today. Normally I don't panic over illnesses, and ds6 actually had the flu a few weeks ago and it wasn't a big deal. BUT...baby just spent a nightmare week in the hospital, 5 hours away from home (we were on vacation) with acute croup. It was horrible! She literally could barely get any air. We spent 2 days in ICU-I had no idea croup could be that bad. Now I'm super paranoid that every time she gets sick we are going to wind up in the hospital. I have no reason to think she will but I'm still scared. We have to see a pediatric pulmonologist on Thursday to make sure there is no damage so I plan to drill him with questions about what the future holds for her and illnesses. Even if we don't have to fear another hospital stay I just don't want her (or any of my others) sick again. The week ds6 had the flu dd13 had strep. Apparently it didn't get completely cleared up because she is sick again and I took her to the doc this afternoon and she tested positive for strep. And dd8 has horrible eczema/psoriasis and it is infected again. I'm just soooo done with sicknesses and medicines. If you could say a prayer for us that we all get healthy and stay that way I would be so grateful.

re: NOOOO!!!

croup is very scary! my dd had it last month as well, and they had her on prednisone. she is very prone to it,so i think it must just be certain children, bc my other two dc havent had it.

also, we had strep last month as well, and im thinking the flu, bc we had high fevers for over a week, so im hoping we have all that behind us.

Praying for you and your family.

re: NOOOO!!!

call your pediatrician TODAY, explain that your little one was exposed to H1N1..he/she will most likely consider ordering some tamiflu.

re: NOOOO!!!

I prayed for you. I prayed that the Lord would give you wisdom, to know how to handle every situation that comes up; that He would take care of each one of yours; and that He would be near you and comfort you. Most of all, I prayed that I could meet every member in your family in heaven someday. God bless you!

re: NOOOO!!!

I am so sorry! I agree with calling the doc today and explaining the situation and see if you can do something proactive now for baby. We are having our rounds of sickness too..we all had croup last month..our baby had a horrible time and was doing albuterol treatments. Then a week later a stomach flu hit. Now my baby and the other dd is sick with something like the flu...we most likely had Swine last June when we all came down with a terrible flu like symptoms in SUMMER!!?? It seems to be never ending.

Praying that you and your family feel and get better soon. How scary for baby being so sick. I don't blame you for being alarmed. Keep us posted. Praying for you and your family.
