Two years ago we were talking to the family that owned our local Chinese restaurant. We noticed they were open from 10am to 10pm 7 days a week. We asked them if they ever closed, to which they told us, "Only on Thanksgiving." Shocked, we said, "You're open on Christmas?" "Yes," she replied, "that is one of our best days." "Why?" we asked, thinking no one would go out to eat on Christmas! "People traveling to visit someone in the hospital or nursing home," she said. Oh!!!!! Duh! So then we asked, "Well then why do you close on Thanksgiving?" To which they replied, "Americans no like-uh eat chinee on Tanks-give-ene!" heehee:)

That reminds me of the movie "A Christmas Story" when the family eats christmas dinner at a Chinese Resaurant because the neighbor's dogs ate their turkey.
