any other FL people...

any other FL people...

sick of this hot weather?!? I am soooo tired of it being so hot here, and the mosquitos are about to push me over the edge...I wish we would see something resembling fall, but it is still getting up to the 90s almost every day here. I guess I shouldn't complain, I should be counting my lucky stars, but I feel like whining...our closets are full of cute sweaters and pants that are just hanging there uselessly. Oh well...

You wear sweaters in Florida?

re: any other FL people...

YOU ARE COMPLAINING??????? Yesterday, DH, DD and I went for a lovely bike ride wearing our tank tops and shorts. The breeze was gliding off the ocean, the sun was shining, a few clouds puffed up to tell us hello. The eagles, woodstorks, rosetta spoonbill, and tri-colored herons all perked up with smiling gaze toward the sun while an armadillo scampered in and out of the shady hibicus bushes bursting with blooms. Afterwards we went for a swim.

How could anyone not love this?

Pretty-in-Pink, we do wear sweaters here in Florida for our one day of winter when it reaches a blood chilling 50 degrees. (Actually the northern part of the state gets cold and has 4 seasons which is why we don't live there.)

I live in N. FL and yes we do have 4 seasons. Yesterday, we stayed at 59 all day. Today, is beautiful with 70's. I love Fall at most of the time the weather is absolutely beautiful(not too cold or too hot). We do where sweaters and jackets. We get into the 20's and 30's here in January and February.

I live in west central FL and a weak cold front came in yesterday. I am a native Floridian but I've always hated our weather. I like when it gets cold here (which wouldn't really be "cold" to you Northerners, LOL!) I would like to live up North.

ROFL!! Yes we do, just not very much! And nothing like the winter coats that northerners wear, just simple sweaters, cardigans, sometimes (GASP) a fleece pullover - lol.

Minnie, yes that is how I should be, thankful. another case of the grass is greener, heehee, it could be worse, I could be looking at curriculum! Thanks for the slap I needed to remember to be grateful!

I went to school in Gainesville (north-central) and my parents own some property in Live Oak (north) that we spent time at as kids. Both places got rather chilly in the winter, 4 seasons and all. Again, nothing like the north, but much much different than south of, say, Orlando. It never gets really cold here where I am, but still, I am still hearing the A/C unit turning on every 10 minutes to keep us cool, and I miss being able to have the windows open this time of year. Wishing it would just drop 10 degrees or so and it would be perfect :)

Don't worry, Heidi, our sweater days will be here soon enough. You must be a great deal further south of me than I thought since we're able to open up all the doors in the morning right now. The temp's in the 70's every morning before screeching up to 90 by the afternoon. I would like a little rain, however, since we're on water restriction. I just got two new fox tail palms and some flowering trees which I would like to quit watering by hand.
