I was wondering if you have any short cuts you use for certain tasks (besides enlisting help of the kids), to make the chores quicker?

For the bathrooms, I keep all the cleaning supplies I need to clean them in each bathroom. That way, I'm not walking all over the house looking for the cleaning supplies. I also noticed that it's better for me to do all the bathroom on one day rather than toilet and replenish paper one day then mirrors another day. Instead I do one whole bathroom one day, then the next whole bathroom another day. Plus I wipe out the shower/tub during my shower which seems to be a lot less work for me.

Thanks CRL, I like the idea of doing the whole bathroom verses bits of it on different days. I may have to try that this week.

Have you tried using the Norwex Enviro Cloths. Oh my goodness, I just went to a demo and bought one of the microfiber cloths and I have never ever got my shower so clean. It's also good for the kiddos because they are not using chemicals, just water and the cloth and everything comes so clean!
Just a suggestion, Becky

Magic Eraser. This helps with SO many tasks.
If I'm doing the bathrooms, then I like to do a whole bathroom in one session, but a lot of times I don't get to-- with a wild toddler around, the breakdown has been nice to get me back on track if I had to stop. I always make sure to to what the list says first, then add to it if I can. If kids are doing them, then I like how it is broken down.
Kids do kitchen related chores while I am cooking or doing fridge inventory/menu planning. I can keep an eye on them, keep them on track, move them from one task to the next more smoothly, and make sure it is done right all while I am getting something done as well. Then we're all free to do MORE chores later with the time we saved! ;o)
Chore races and laundry teams...kids are on a team and race to get as many shirts on hangers or pants folded as they can in a given time. Every x number of shirts/pants earns them all 1 M&M each. Or they see who can get the most toys on the shelf, who can finish their part of emptying dishwasher first, etc. Kids CAN empty the dishwasher AND load it from an early age. LOL I promise ;o)
Empty the dishwasher at night so you don't have to do it first thing in the morning. That way you can skip putting dishes in the sink and they can go right into the dishwasher after breakfast. Everyone here except the 3yo (and dad...lol) put their dishes into the dishwasher as soon as they are done eating.
That's all I can think of right now.
