I have daughter - 9, forth grade, a son - 5, K, a son -18 months old, a son 6 months old and I am 3 months pregnant. I am looking for a school schedule for my daughter. There are so many thing I want her to learn but it seem there is not enough time in the day. There is english, math, bible, science, penmenship, history, geography, reading, typing and more. It just seems like there is so much. I was thinking that maybe certain subjects on certain days would be good. I have been homeschooling since my daughter was in 1st grade. I love it and my kids do too. Thanks to all who reply :) Carissa

You might want to repost this under the homeschooling discussions. There's alot more activity over there, and I'm sure someone will have some great ideas for you!

I understand your delima, I face the same challenges. I think alternating subjects is a great idea, and that's what we are going to do as well. We are going to break it up and do half on mon & tues and half wed & thurs with friday just doing bible, spelling tests, and library day. (with my oldest 2 who are in 7th and 5th anyway) My 2nd and K I think we'll do each subject everyday for now. I also have a 3 year old and an 8 month old so I understand how pressed it gets sometimes.

Not everything is written in, but we don't necessarily do every subject every day. We do Bible about 2 days a week, history 3, science 2-3, grammar 4-5, math 4-5, spelling 2-3, writing 3-4. (6th grade with a 4 to 4 1/2 day school week.)

Hello Carissa: I see your post is older but maybe you'll still be checking the board. Workboxes have been a life saver for me. www.workboxes.com is the website. I have 4 dc ages 5 months to 7.5. I have my older two dc (5.5 and 7.5) working through the workbox system and it's been great. We do history 2 days a week, science 2 days a week, art and piano daily as well as LA and Math. (we school 4 days a week). Takes us 2 hours total for everything.
Good luck to you, ~Melissa~ http://cordovaacademy.blogspot.com/

I would do the english, math, spelling, Bible, and reading daily and schedule science/health, history/geo,etc. on alternating days. That should make your days shorter and more manageable!
