It is a rare year we are able to take a vacation.

We went ahead and took a family vacation. We go and stay at a summer house DH's parents have. It's free and fun.
We did have to pay gas and some food costs, but it wasn't too bad.

What's a vacation? The last time I had any sort of vacation was April 2007 for just the weekend. I/we could really use another one.

we are going on a family vacation for the first time in 5 years! we can't wait. we are going to myrtle beach in a few weeks.

How exciting! Myrtle beach is awesome, plenty for the kids to do. We used to go there years ago.........but now we live near South Padre Island so we stick with that.

No, we can't afford one, but what we'll do instead is when my husband is done teaching summer school, we'll take that week and do daytrips instead. That is just the cost of fuel, and we'll probably buy some Subway or some such thing for picnic lunches.

Vacation???? sigh...... happy for those of you who do and I think it is a very good thing for one to relax and enjoy. My dh is an agriculture man yes; cows , crops,tractors and all. Right now milk prices are at the lowest they have been in 20 years and so we won't be going anywhere. Normally we do not take a yearly vacation because its near impossible to hire someone to milk plus take care of animals. Last fall we did take off for three days to visit our son in Montana. Our one son stayed here and took care of animals plus we hired someone to help (won't hire that one again!)
