Dd is 9 but reads several years above grade level. She goes through books so quickly, So we need some great suggestions for new books worth our money. Here are her perennial favorites:
From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler Harry Potter (all) Peter & the Starcatchers (all in the series) Chronicles of Narnia Secret Garden Little Princess Warriors (all) N.E. Bode (all)
She has read Little House & many other children's classics. Any other suggestions/recommendations? What fictional reading do you have dc do?

Have you looked into the Redwall Series? our son was a very advanced reader and devoured all of the books.
|
We have the whole series; my husband and I loved it, but she can't stomach books about mice & rats. She won't read Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH either. :0(

Has she read any of the Artemis Fowl books? Both my kids liked those (Artemis Fowl is the main character - the author is Eoin Colfer). Anne of Green Gables books?

Bridge to Terabithia What about the Eragon series? Is Tolkein too hard? Anne of Green Gables series (8 books) Little Women, Good Wives, Little Men Several books by Cynthia Voight are good, too (just check, one might have content that she should wait to read about). Don't forget Judy Bloom. LOL Nancy Drew Elsie Dinsmore

how about all the Anne of Green Gables books? they are WONDERFUL...

I might suggest taking a look at a SL reader package and see if any of those books would be of interest. They have some really neat ones (not that you have to buy from them, but they put together a great book list for LA readers).
