Need suggestions for readers on the same level as MFW Bible Reader (1st grade)
I was wondering if those of you familiar with MFW Bible Reader could give me some suggestions for other readers that are about on the same level/format. The Bible Reader is on the perfect level for my ds right now and he really does well with the format (not a ton of colorful pictures). I've tried other "readers" with colorful pictures and I think he gets too distracted. He seems to do better with a story that is 2 or 3 pages long with only one or two black and white illustrations. I should also probably mention that I have the Pathway Readers First Steps and he doesn't really like that very much. He doesn't like the "Dick and Jane" style of the dialog - i.e. - "Come here. Come and look. Look and see." He keeps asking me why the book is saying the same thing over and over. :) I'm wondering if the later levels of the Pathway readers are different. Maybe First Steps is a little below what I should have gotten. As for me, I'd prefer to have a volume that contains multiple stories instead of a bunch of the little booklets - they seem to get strewn all over the house. I've looked at Rainbow Resource and have come across McGuffy's Eclectic Primer , Elson Primer, Christian Liberty Press Nature Readers, Christian Light Education I Wonder Reader and Pathway Days Go By - but it's so hard to tell which would work for ds without having them in hand. Can anyone help with some suggestions from that list or others that I haven't come across yet? Thanks so much! Sharon
