History for 5th grader

History for 5th grader

Okay, so I think I've narrowed down the science (God's Design for Science) for my upcoming 5th grader. However, I'm looking for a fun, somewhat independent history for him. He LOVES science and history, so I want it to be engaging for him. We've mainly done studies on our own for the past two years, but because I'll be adding in a Ker next year, I don't think time will allow that as much. So, I'm looking for something he can do on his own with minimal assistance. I will add in fun hands-on activities as I find them and time allows.

Thanks!
Sherrie

re: History for 5th grader

Take look at America The Beautiful and or Sam And Me by Notgrass.

From what i have seen...I would suggest Sam and Me say this year as i think it is easier for the younger students to use and understand and then try America The Beautiful another year. Either one would work ok..... but your student is on the younger end of the suggested ages for America the Beautiful so that is why I suggested the other 1st as your looking for independence.

You could also call Notgrass and get suggestions on how to use these for your student also at his age independently.
